Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapists work with children and their families to assist each child in reaching their maximum potential to function independently and to promote active participation in home, school, and community environments. Pediatric physical therapy helps children learn to successfully and independently perform gross motor skills (running, jumping, hopping) and functional mobility skills (crawling, walking, stair climbing).

Occupational Therapy

Pediatric occupational therapists help children gain independence and promote development of fine motor skills, sensory motor skills, and visual motor skills that children need to function and socialize in their home, school, play, and community environments. In the pediatric setting, occupational therapists use their expertise to help children prepare for and perform important learning and developmental activities.

Speech Therapy

Pediatric speech therapists work with children who have difficulties with communication. The ultimate goal of speech therapy is to empower children to communicate functionally and effectively in various contexts, enabling them to participate fully in social, academic, and everyday activities. Speech therapists work closely with parents and caregivers to provide support and guidance for practicing skills outside of sessions.

Intensive Therapy

Our intensive therapy programs utilize techniques and equipment including: Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), Therasuit, Theratogs, Universal Exercise Unit/Cage Therapy, Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), and PROMPT therapy. Intensive therapy programs promote and enhance neuroplasticity with individualized, intense strengthening and skill training based on a child’s needs, strengths, and weaknesses.

Our Therapeutic Approach

Big Leaps is a private physical, occupational, & speech therapy practice established by two therapists, Sneha Gosalia, a Physical Therapist, and Danielle McKay, an Occupational Therapist.

Our mission is to create a fun, supportive, and safe therapeutic environment by providing the highest quality of physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to help children reach their maximum potential for functional independence.

As medical professionals, we believe quality of care is most important and can be achieved by engaging and teaching families, so that therapy can be carried over in the home and community environment. Our love for this work and commitment to each child's development, coupled with the hands on approach we take is how we get a child to sit, crawl, walk, dress, or write their name for the first time.

Testimonials

This is a very special place making a huge impact on our son's physical and even emotional development. Sneha is magical in how she interacts with our child and pushes him to advance with each session. You can literally see him transforming before your eyes with every session. Sneha brings the family along, explains everything she's doing and what the desired outcomes are, so you can bring it all home and continue the work. The facility is always spotless and spacious and you are never rushed after an appointment when a diaper change or putting on all of your child's equipment might take a few minutes. We can't recommend Big Leaps more to anyone looking for help with their child's physical needs.
